Community Health Worker Services | Howard’s Pharmacy

Howard’s Pharmacy in Morristown is proud to offer Community Health Worker (CHW) services. CHW help members of the Lakeway area community connect with the healthcare and social resources they need. This program was created to help bridge the gap between patients and the many wellness services available in the region.

CHWs serve as trusted guides who help individuals navigate the often complicated network of healthcare providers. They are often invovled in community programs, and social services. They can help arrange transportation to a doctor’s appointment. They help patients locate food assistance programs. They can help provide mental health resources, or identifying other forms of community support. In short, a Community Health Worker can help point you in the right direction.

At Howard’s Pharmacy, Angela Rosenbalm, CPhT, serves as the Community Health Worker for the pharmacy location. Angela has been a familiar face in the pharmacy for more than 24 years and knows many of the patients and families in the Morristown community personally. Through specialized training and certification, she has developed the tools and knowledge needed to connect individuals with a wide range of local resources.

To become certified Community Health Workers, Angela Rosenbalm and Regina Campbell of College Park Pharmacy completed a comprehensive 16-week training program focused on healthcare navigation, community outreach, and social service coordination. As part of this work, they compiled a growing network of more than 45 local organizations throughout the Lakeway area that provide assistance for healthcare needs, housing support, food access, clothing, mental health services, and other community resources.

This program was created with a simple goal in mind: helping people find help when they don’t know where to start.

Many individuals feel comfortable speaking with their local pharmacy team about personal challenges they may be facing. Community Health Workers provide a way to turn those conversations into real support by connecting patients with organizations and programs that can improve their health and well-being.

Pharmacists and co-owners Jacob Cox and Chad Huntsman believe programs like this can play an important role in improving health outcomes in the community. By helping patients address social factors such as transportation, access to food, or other daily challenges, Community Health Workers can help remove barriers that often make it harder for people to maintain their health.

If you or someone you know in the Morristown area needs help finding community resources, the Community Health Worker program at Howard’s Pharmacy is here to help. Appointments are available to meet with Angela Rosenbalm and discuss what resources may be available to assist you or someone you care about.

Howard’s Pharmacy is committed to supporting the health of the Lakeway community by providing personalized care and helping connect people with the resources they need.
